Consequence of Sound has premiered the music video for Slime Girls’ “Meteor Showers”! It’s the 5th song to be released in our One Song at a Time Music video singles series and the last of 2016.
Slime Girls likes to say their music evokes endless summer, and since he incepted that concept into my mind it’s all I can think of when listening to his music. As odd it may seem that this frantic, chaotic but ultimately melodic music can usurp King of Summer from the Hawaiian shirted royalty of the likes of The Beach Boys, he’s right that for the internet generation there’s an undeniable link between Game Boy and beyond electronic melodies and a more frantic pace of summertime.
The video by director Matt Leaf plays with that theme, showing the disconnect that can develop between adulthood reality and those memories which can leave them a bit twisted along the way. Check it out below!
